Who: ANIP is a unique for-credit program for senior undergraduate and postgraduate students. The program also contains workshops and seminars throughout. Course offerings include 12 unit (2 days per week in placement) and 18 unit (4 days per week in placement) versions.
What: It provides an opportunity for a student to be placed in a policy-relevant workplace in Canberra to undertake a major piece of applied research. Students from all the disciplines are considered.
How: Entry into ANIP is competitive: students are selected on the basis of their academic record, referees reports, and their non-academic achievements and goals. Each semester outstanding students from ANU, other Australian universities, and overseas participate in this intense and rewarding program.
Perks: Through ANIP, Australian and overseas university students from any discipline can be placed with a Member of the House of Representatives or Senator in the Australian Federal Parliament, the Australian Public Service, the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly or Public Service, embassies, think tanks, or with non-government organisations (including lobby groups).
